Jason Ballard has dedicated his life to working on big problems at the intersection of human civilizationand the natural world, most notably as the co-founder and CEO of TreeHouse, a first of its kindsustainable home upgrade company specializing in curated products and services that promote healthyand sustainable spaces. As one of the most innovative retail companies creating positive change, TreeHouse has grown to become a major disruptor in the field of home improvement, a $ 1 trillion peryear industry. The TreeHouse mission is to normalize sustainable, beautiful and efficient building. The recently launched TreeHouse location in Dallas, TX is the world’s first energy-positive big box storethat produces more energy than it consumes giving back to the city of Dallas through solar panels, Teslabatteries, north-facing windows and other energy-efficient features. TreeHouse is also the first retailerof Tesla, Haiku Fans, Romabio paint, Sunpower Solar, Nebia shower systems, Interface FLOR, and otherground-breaking building technologies and products. Prior to co-founding TreeHouse, Ballard worked as a green builder in Boulder for two years and as anenvironmental consultant for ACRT. In addition to Ballard’s work as an environmental entrepreneur, heis a GLG Social Impact Fellow, a prestigious group of social entrepreneurs including TED speakers andformer first-daughter Barbara Bush. Ballard serves on the Carbon War Room / Rocky Mountain InstituteEnergy Think Tank and was recently invited to join the Sustainability Advisory Council of NRG, the largest seller of green energy in the nation. Ballard hails from East Texas and studied conservation biology at Texas A&M University. He currently resides in Austin, TX, home of the flagship TreeHouse location, with his wife and two children.
