George Lawrence is founder and President of MerchantWords. George realized that the secret to success as a seller is understanding buyer search behavior when shopping online. After developing research tools for internal use as a seller, George launched the service publicly to help all sellers. George's analysis initially covered the behavior of US shoppers. That scope has been greatly expanded to North America and Europe with behavior analysis of shoppers in US, Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany, Italy, France and Spain. George began his software career in 1992 with Symantec as a developer of Norton Utilities. Shortly thereafter he transitioned to the internet and eCommerce industry. In 1996 he was a founding member of the CitySearch.com team, working with the company until its merger with TicketMaster in 1998. In 1999 George developed the software which enabled the world’s first online automobile shopping platform, CarsDirect.com, and helped the company transition into other consumer eCommerce verticals until its IPO as InternetBrands in 2007. Prior to launching MerchantWords in 2013, George was a founding employee of TigerText building mobile communication software.
