I write about alternative income ideas and closed end funds. I am the co-founder of Relative Value Partners and serve as Chief Investment Officer. The history of my firm starts over 25 years ago when my partner Bob Huffman and I worked together as managing directors in institutional fixed income sales at Salomon Brothers/Citigroup, After nearly two decades, we decided to start an investment firm in 2004 that provides objective investment advice and treats client assets as if they were our own. Today, we manage nearly $ 1 billion in assets. The firm brings an institutional investment methodology to individuals, family offices and small institutions. As CIO, I manage the firm’s absolute return, equity, balanced and fixed income portfolios. I have a specialized expertise with closed end funds and ETFs. I’m frequently asked to provide insight on investment topics in national publications and am the author of The Seven Deadly Sins of Investing: How to Conquer your Worst Impulses and Save your Financial Future (AMACOM, 2006).
